Interest free period
  • Maximum 56 days on purchases if you pay in full and on time each month, during the first six months.
  • No interest free period on balance transfers, cash withdrawals or cheques.
  • This is subject to any interest free promotional offer.
Interest charging information

You will not pay interest on purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time. Otherwise, the period over which interest is charged is as follows:

Even if you pay the balance in full, the interest charge for the period from the previous statement to the date of full repayment will be debited the following month.

You will not pay interest on Default Charges for 28 days, starting from the date that you are given notice of the Default Charge.

Allocation of payments Payments you make will be applied to your account in the following order:
  1. Default Charges and interest on Default Charges.
  2. Promotional balance transfers and fees
  3. Promotional purchases
  4. Interest, fees and charges
  5. Standard rate purchases and balance transfers
  6. Cash Balance
Minimum monthly repayment

5% or £5 per month (whichever is greater).

If you only make the minimum payment, it will take you longer and cost you more to clear your balance.

Avoid paying additional charges. Stay within your credit limit and ensure that your monthly payments are received on time.

Pay less interest by repaying more each month.

The example below assumes the following:

  • £600 purchase on 1st November 2008 and no further transactions made.
  • Typical rate of 14.9% APR variable is charged.
  • Credit limit is not exceeded.
  • Minimum repayment of 5% or £5 (whichever is the greater) is made.
  • Payment is made each month on payment due date.

Cancellation rights

You have a right to cancel this agreement. This right will expire 14 calendar days after we post the card to you. Unless you cancel within this period you will be bound by this Agreement. If you wish to cancel this Agreement, please send written notice to Barclaycard, Department BCR, Northampton NN4 7SG. If you cancel you will still need to repay any money already lent to you. Unless you repay this money in full within a month of cancelllation, you may be required to pay interest or other charges under the terms of this Agreement.
